Steyr, Austria, March 2013. This year at the Motion, Drive and Automation trade fair in Hannover, NKE Austria GmbH will exhibit rolling bearings for industrial gearboxes in various applications. Bearings from NKE are used for example in plant construction, materials handling, in rail vehicles, metal production and processing, mining, heavy machinery, and in the special application of wind energy systems.

Rolling bearings are immensely important elements of industrial gearboxes, and they must satisfy extremely demanding specifications. For these exacting applications, NKE offers cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, angular contact ball bearings, deep groove ball bearings, four point contact bearings, and special bearings built to customer specifications. One of the major strengths of the Steyr-based rolling bearing manufacturer is its range of single row cylindrical roller bearings: NKE manufactures over 3,000 different variants, which enables an enormous variety of application capabilities. These bearings are notable for their outstanding economy and operating reliability, and can be produced at the Steyr factory with short lead times.

When developing and manufacturing special bearings for gearboxes, NKE cooperates closely with the user. Besides product development, NKE also offers gearbox manufacturers a comprehensive service including application engineering consulting, assistance with design, technical calculations, support in obtaining certifications, and training courses. All bearings made by NKE are subject to stringent quality requirements and are tested using modern inspection and measurement procedures.

NKE, with about 180 employees, produces standard and special bearings for all industrial applications. Engineering, product development, production and final processing of components, assembly, quality assurance, logistics, and sales and marketing are centralised at its Steyr headquarters. Besides product development and application engineering, NKE provides a full range of technical services and training. NKE’s bearings are distributed through 18 international representative offices and more than 240 distribution outlets in 60 countries.
